Shibori Felting Workshop
Learn how to apply time-honored Shibori techniques to create dimension and texture to your knitting. Shibori is a Japanese term used to describe shape-resist techniques traditionally used to dye fabric. You'll be asked to bring several swatches of stockinette stitch to practice these techniques. Felting will be done in class. One session.

Hand Felted Ornaments and Jewelry
Learn to transform colored roving into beautiful balls that can be joined together to create one-of-a-kind ornaments, garland, jewelry, buttons or perhaps a pin cushion. Students will also learn needle felting techniques to embellish balls with contrasting colors. One session.

Intro to Intarsia
It's time to add a little color to your life...or at least to your knitting! Using a new intarsia bag pattern from Leigh, learn the art of multicolor knitting while creating this fun and unusual felted bag. (Student will do their own felting at home). One session.

Needle Felting Workshop
Learn the basics of needle felting in this all day workshop. Working with wool roving and a felting needle, learn to embellish a variety of samples including a knit swatch and woven fabric with the design of your choice. Using these same techniques you will learn to create needle felting rings and jewelry as seen in Leigh's new book, AlterKnits Felt. Ideas for incorporating beads and embroidery will also be covered. One session.

Christmas Ornaments
We will be transforming a basic knit ball into Dr. Seuss inspired shapes perfect for decorating your tree this year. First session will concentrate on knitting the ornaments while the second session will focus on how to transform your knitting into the wonderful tiered ornaments featured in AlterKnits Felt. Felting will be done in class during second session. Two sessions.
